Honeybee

In light of my recent trip to the Portland Art Museum, I wrote a poem. Definitely just went out of my comfort zone on this one. Maybe there will be more of this to come. Who knows.
You’re a Work of Art
You know
An acrylic painting
Abidingly colorful
Hand-crafted
Set in stone
Don’t let anyone
Tell you different
God already knows
The person inside
Waiting to step
Out
Of its shell
Can’t wait
Hesitates
Thinking they’re just
Not great
Honeybee you
Can do great things
You’re a work of
Art
And that my dear is
So
Let everybody know
The beauty that’s
Inside the dreamer
Who can’t stand
The status quo
Step out of that
Shell
It’s not where you’re
Called to be
Look at the
Lights
Can’t you see?
A Work of
Art this
Honeybee
Can now truly
Be.
